I haven't said a whole lot about the past couple of weeks... mostly because I take photos, I'm not a writer. However, this post really cannot go without words. Stacy is my best friend. (Actually, one of two, I also am very very close with my high school best friend still)
Anyway, we met when our first children were one, we both took a 'toddler school' type class just to get our kids out of the house a bit in the MN winter. We immediately hit it off, and our friendship has continued to grow over the last 6 years.
Katelin is her fourth child, and the third child who's birth I've attended out of her family. I don't think there are words to describe how special that makes me feel. I'm incredibly lucky to have that kind of friendship. (She also attended Meghan's birth as my support person since my husband is a tad squeamish- he was there, but not really involved as girlfriends can be)
I'm also so happy for her that she finally got the birth outcome that she wanted. She's always strived for a natural, drug free birth. After being frustrated for the first three children, she was there for Meghan's birth and saw how fantastic my midwives are (I've also done natural childbirth 2/3 times) and so she switched clinics and hospitals. And I'm so proud of her- she had a 10 pound, 8 ounce baby unassisted! She is a MIRACLE momma.
And I love her like she is my sister. Here are a couple of photos...
